Powershift in reverse with pto on

Well after 35 years of running these tractors I finally did it. Left my1370 in reverse while running an auger. How long does it take to damage something and how will I know if I have damaged it? Thanks

How many rpm were you running at? Damage most likely to be would be done to the planetary gear set and would show up as extreme noise and grinding if the bearings in the planetary cage were damaged. I would not be concerned if nothing unusual shows up but would listen for any unusual noises with the clutch down as C4 is energized and the planetary unit is rotating to give reverse when C2 is applied.

About 1200 rpm. On and off for about 3 hours total.

At the lower RPM's you are more than likely OK, the on again and off help give things a chance to cool and get a little lube. I have only seen the damage occur at WOT running for several hours without stopping. Silo filling and pumping manure pits are the two jobs that do damage around here if left in rev. Run.

Ok thank you. I was hoping there was a chance it would be ok. I don’t detect any strange noises when I push the clutch in.
