Start'N to plan the trip to deliver all of the "wordly posessions" for a gal here who is DETERMINED to return to the University of WESTERN FLORIDA!

Up here, the fuel is gett'N affordable for such a 100 gal trek, AGAIN!

I liked 'dat..........No problem I have my own TEXACO "Fire chief" pump".......I always carry it, the pumping action, in my van!

Color of gas? RED

TEXACO "Sky Chief"...... GREEN

TEXACO Diesel........... CLEAR

I always carry 2 gal can of CLEAR DIESEL in my van for those lovely ladies in dem Mercedes along the Intersatates when they, the lady, is asking their "RESPONSIBILE PARTIES", "WHAT SHOULD I DO". Cell Phone conversations that I hear while doing my "business" in the PORTA JOHNNIES? TOO LOW ON FUEL??????????

Starting to drop here too, just went under $3.00 but our Daytona area is always higher than most of FL. I hear it is below $2.80 in parts of the west panhandle. I came across TX, OK, AK, TN, MS, AL and FL just ahead of the hurricane and gas was fron $3.60 to $4.69 but except for Memphis you could easily find it, had to buy mid-grade in Tupelo for $3.84, Ozark, AL reg BP for $3.89, Shell across the corner was $4.59. I was in Charlotte, NC 9/25 to 10/1 and it was nearly impossible to find gas and when you did it was like an hour wait. I hit it lucky and found gas with 15 minute wait on 9/29 but at $4.29. It was real strange, just before that I had pulled up to a gas station next to a police car with flashing lights and he told me they had no gas, said a few cars had pulled up to the pumps and it quickly got out of hand, I was like 50 cars from the pumps and all those ahead of me were staying! Don't know when or if they ever got gas. On my way South there was plenty of gas by Columbia, SC and reasonable too. In Charlotte they blamed it on the pipeline from the gulf. Seems to me some could be trucked in in dire situations but it did not happen. Some one is scamming us!

OK.......I am going to delay till 'Jan 09.

The most I can carry on board is 5 ea. 5 gal cans on account of the extra weight.

Only gives me approx. 75 miles for reserves, due to situations that I cannot control.

I have 5 empty 50# FREON cans that I converted to DOT approved gas cans.

Normal Plastic cans are not DOT approved.

Trick: Punch out the pressure relief valve on R-22 cans. Weld YOUR choice of pipe fitting. Insert your own plastic pipe (fuel safe) pour away. Hosoevers, YOU might have to "crack" the stem of the container to allow AIR to enter. Otherwise, slow-goiN's.

Actually the "Hartford Compressor"(tm) is want'N to sell me some new compressors. Possible $$$revenue becoming one of THEIR sales reps. in this NE area, in the near future.

The SCREW compressor has been out for a long time...Former "DUNHAM BUSH".

Out there on the WEST COAST, the technology has been used to "reclaim" fuel vapors that escape the storage tanks, condense the fuel, and put the fuel back into the tanks.

So, I have to educate MYSELF on the SCREW compressors. Not simple class-room stuff. None esxist. A customer of mine is planning a new storage room next year. 100,000 bu. of product, either foreign or domestic, year-round operations.

The 40-100 ton SCREW might be the way to go., rather than a bunch of 25 hsp. piston stuff.

Sunoco stations around here are running short, seems like. Tourists get frustrated when the pumps just will NOT pump. They just drive off without telling the attendents.

Eventually, though, the white plastic bags are over most of the nozzles.

BP stations are always pumping with NO problems.

I guess BRITISH PETROLEUM, since they bought out TEXACO, have no problems with their pipelines at Port Authur, TX.
