Problematic O-Ring

I'm trying to replace a o-ring inside the 3pth lift housing on my 504 but can not remove the shaft that the o-ring goes on due to unmovable parts in the way to slide a new one on. My question is can i cut the new o-ring and wrap it around the shaft? The shaft with the o-ring only rotates, it does not plunge back and forth. Whether that matters or not. And the fluid behind the o-ring is not under pressure. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The O ring will leak if cut. the rock shaft will need to be removed. Sorry there is no real option. Jim

Are you shure?? Locktite used to sell a kit with O ring material and glue to make whatever O ring you may need. I would search Locktite with your problem! Bud.

Loctite did make a O ring kit that came with the glue to do just as you said. Even had a razor and guide to cut the rubber square. It does work.

yes as mentioned, loctite has a kit that you cut the o ring square and to size and glue the butts together. have used them also.

Field splice an O-ring right on the shaft as others suggest.
