Produce auction

Here"s the report from ours, while Im sure it varies by location at least it"s something to look at: http://www.uky.edu/Ag/NewCrops/auctions.html

Depends on how much $ you've got tied up in the produce and also how much labor. We raise a market garden every year. There is a produce auction which opened up outside an Amish community about 15 miles from us about a year and a half ago. I've been tempted to try it out, but we've got a lot of labor into our stuff. We currently sell it at two different farmers markets and also in the town nearest us. I hate to sell for less than retail. We can sell pretty much whatever we grow, so the temptation is not too strong. If we grew more extensive rather than intensive veggies, like watermelons, corn, etc I might consider going to the auction.
