I have a 1960 661 (five-speed)...proofmeter seems to work OK, but the face has completely rusted and is unreadable. Has anyone had sucess replacing the face? Is it possible to take the meter apart & repair? I know most of them have a pressed-on ring which cannot be removed/replaced easily.
I can find a replacement cheap enough but I would rather preserve the run-hours on the current meter. Better reflection of the useage.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks, Steve.
