Anyone buying any propane for next winter? If so, what's the going price? Haven't heard from my supplier yet. Just curious.

wgm,

I stopped by my supplier's office today and talked to him about propane prices. He hasn't contracted any futures yet, so he can't specify what the price is going to be this winter, however, he said he thinks that it will be just under $2.00. His contracted price to his customers last winter was $2.07. I am located in Middle Tennessee about 40 miles south of Nashville.

The supplier's price for summer fillups is $1.90.

It sure would be nice if the price were lower, but I doubt that it will be.

I just filled my tanks with summerfill here in Mn. for 1.48 due in sept. My supplier does not have contract price for winter yet.

Here in Northcentral Ohio it was 2.24 a gallon. We were forced to order propane or pay a 82.00 fee or they would take the tank. We burned wood for the last 2 years, and we used about 45% of our 500 gallon tank since Nov of 2005. Well they filled it up after we had agreed on 150 gallons, so be because of their mistake we got our tank filled at 212 gallons and we paid 1.30 a gallon.
Talk about lucky. Next year we will just pay the fee for using the tank and not get any propane next year. Thank god for free wood!

SWMN $1.52 Summer fill if paid within 15 days of delivery. Winter contract $1.52 Cash, Terms (10 month payment plan) $1.57. We are a small company and are in the middle as far a price goes. CO-OP's are a bit less and the national mega company is higher.

Talk to my supplier 10000 gallon with tanks is $1.52 per gallon.

LAst time I checked fire wood was not free either it took time to cut it chainsaws to cut it with gas and oil to run chainsaws. that ios not free in my world.

Well I don't pay for the wood, but the cost of the saw and gas is nothing compared to propane. I'm young and it keeps me in shape and I enjoy doing it. We kept our home at 76 degrees all winter long. Couldn't afford that with propane.

You're right, firewood is not really free. But we've got trees that came down during our February ice storm, and others down in the pasture, and a couple coming down in the garden. We can cut them up and throw the wood away or we can heat with it.

Holy crap! I'm getting the cheap price 'cuz I use a bunch and I'm at $2.24 in Northern NY! I wish I could get it cheap like you guys. Maybe I'd better shop around.
