PTO buzz saw

Years ago we had a PTO circular saw for cutting up firewood. It had a right angle drive with flat belt sheave that fit over the PTO shaft and bolted onto our JD2020. If I remember correctly it connected to the 3 point hitch. The saw blade was about 30 inch diameter. It had a hinged platform that we would lay the limbs on. With one push into the saw a 4 to 6 inch diameter limb was quickly cut. We could even cut bigger wood but a bit slower. Anyway I came across the PTO drive, but can't find the rest of the unit. I'm afraid it might have been scrapped. Does anybody have a line on one of these?

friend of mine has one that used to be on my SC Case I got the SC and he got the saw ,$15 bucks at auction , I really don't care to have the thing either ,Dad had a poor mans version on a VAC ,,Golly that thing SEEMED and was dangerous , AND WE CUT A LOT OF WOOD FAST , Many Other Great Americans did TOO,,,, CARDINAL RULES .. never Work aLONE , Always be Careful, Frozen Slick ground , shut the SAW DOWN

Was just with him last week and I was shown a buzz saw at a friend of his place. Was interesting to see. He is always around on form. Just Hay Old to him. Tell him larry mention he might have access to one.

I think the saw you are referring to was a Deerborne cord saw. I have one that I use on a Ford 8N. Just unhooked it today. There is an individual in Moses Lake, WA that has a Deerborne cord saw for sale.

Old should be on here somewhere as I just got off the phone with him about 15 minutes ago...

Thanks, Keith and Shawn. That is exactly it. I'm in Northern Calif. If there is one to be had, it wouldn't have to be in good shape as we do lots of fabrication. I remember the frame being on the light side anyway, so would probably want to beef it up.

Boy can I remember the days going to the woods and cutting wagon load after wagon load of wood. We had one mounted on the front of a 39 farmall m and used it from when I can first remember which was 1944 ( 1st grade )until they got rid of the old furnace and went to LP gas in 1977.
That is one thing I don't miss from the farm.
