Recently we (Gransons) bought a 706D for tractor pulling and getting a gas JD 720 ready for next year, too. TRIAL AND ERROR IS GOOD BUT A LITTLE EXPERT ADVISE HELPS A LOT!!!! All is new 2 us, my other Granson has a WD and WD45 he has pulled a few times. I guess I am the metal man in the mix, spent a day today 95 degree day making the pulling hitch. He bought a different draw bar dedicated for pulling only and I fabricated a kick butt hit hitch for it. He pulled it (706D) once last year the day after he purchased it using a shaky hitch system with less than a desired outcome, but that isn’t where I am going

The tractor (706D) has plenty of power there but he didn’t start out in the right gear nor did he use the torque. All you guys that have experience, what would you pull the 708D in???? Where does his torque come into play May sound foolish but he has a pull in a couple weeks and I really would like to see that tractor get down and pull like I know it can. *******Any personal input would be greatly appreciated.
I’m old and not born on a farm though some family had farms and back in the day that is where you worked as a young man and our first serious jobs but….. I only went to tractor pulls and I am -NO HELP TO MY GRANDKIDS CAUSE I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE DO’S AND DON’T OF TRACTOR PULLING BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP MORE, OTHER THAN MAKING PARTS!
