nice ,, Thats how ALL my DCs pull,, btw, around these parts ,,, we always refered the DC to be of REAL MALE gender.........................

I have a DC that I have pulled for over 20 yrs, got to be the best balanced tractor I ever pulled, always competitve, I see you lean way back to bring up the front too, thsy like to pull this way for sure, thanks for posting.

We pull them in the 5550 Farm Stock and 6000 Farm Stock. We pull up against 880 olivers and a 60 jd most of the time. There has been a U minni and a super m pulling in the past too. They don't always come up on top but we give them a good run for there money.

Yes we are pulling off the stock drawbars with a plow clevis that has washers for shims. On the 1950 and 48 we made the wheelie bars out of square tubing. We took two sizes of square tubing and made a quick detach with a pin. We then took a short piece of the tubing and welded it to a plate that we bolted onto the bale. I can't exactly remember on the 52 but it has the sliding rale and they were bolted to it for suport but they were hung from a bracket bolted onto the belly.

I noted that every pic shown has the front wheels off the ground. Not being critical but we pull in extremely competetive pulls here in Pa. and consistently pull in the top of the class. My observations after having pulled since the 60's. when the front comes up you lose drawbar height, when you lose that you lose the mechanical advantage on the chain. Contrary to what some may say, the tractor center of gravity does not need to be in line with the chain. Front wheels just kissing the ground are just rite, max transfer of weight without losing the drawbar height.

In my opinion the best Dcs to pull are the pre hydraulic types as the drawbar can be got way further front, A lot of places rules allow 18" from the axle centerline and 20" high and tractors should be set up that way in my opinion.

Tires are another area where I differ from a lot of people, Tires should be as large as allowed in the class and pressure should be high enough to keep the tread from buckling up in the center. 12-15 on most tracks works.

There is much more but these couple things are very important in my opinion.

At any rate I really enjoted the pics and hope more are posted, I'll try to get some of our tractors pics up here.

mEl I have to agree with you we have to run the stock draw bar and it cant be modified in the farm stock classes. We run a little lower are pressure ussually 9-12 pounds but we have old and hard tires as well. I have also tried pulling the tractors with the wheels just barely touching but they seem to like it better when the nose is off the ground a few inches. I understand where your coming from completey and it is good advice for everone. Happy pulling
