Veries from sled to sled. You need to know the weight on the pan at the staring line. Then you need to know how much weight is added per inch as the sled proceeds down track. You also need to know the weight of the tractor. With our sled the formula is: Total Inches (weight transfer moves) times 46.4 (amount of weight added for each inch) plus 2800 (weight of pan) divided by tractor weight equals percentage Example 50 inches X 46.4=2320 + 2800 = 5120 divided by 4000(tractor) = 128%
 
Our club uses a simular equasion, and shows the varience between sleds like mentioned before,,

83 X inches pulled, +3260 divided by tractor weight equals percentage pulled.

83 lbs per inch of box travel, the box weighs 3260#.
