Only if you are heating the room you are in and keeping the rest of the rooms cool.

All the ways to try to sell you something is unreal. A watt is a watt with electric heat, regardless if you are heating with a light bulb or a electric super duper high priced / over priced Amish / China built crapola. It all comes up the same dollar for dollar even 220 volt vs 115 volt.

What Ne says. A 500 dollar 1500 watt one puts out the same heat as a 19 dollar 1500 watt one. I love my 52 dollar, made in China one. I live alone and keep the rest of the house cold. Saves the gas bill. Those high priced ones are the biggest rip off of the decade.

Those high priced heaters are a SCAM
Check out the Watts used, or amps and volts, on
the nameplate/tag. Amps times volts equal Watts
A $19.95 1500 watt heater from Wally World will
give the same amount of heat !

As the others have already said, these heaters do ONLY what the ads say they do and that is VERY carefully worded. Call your local electric utility and ask them about complaints if you want to hear the horror stories. If you really want to save money, turn your thermostat down 10 degrees and wear heavy sweat pants, shirt and socks inside the house. Or, buy a $30 heater and put it in the room with you and let the rest of the house stay cold.

Standard air for human comfort is 70ºf@50%r.h.

At 70ºf@30%r.h., you will have a sweater on as you'll feel cool.

At 70ºf@70%r.h., you will be naked trying too cool off.

Humidity during the winter time is low thus you feel cooler, however boil some water in a open pan and you will feel warmer.

Pay close attention too the room humidity level rather that the room temperature.
