Questions on '52 MT

I have a 52 MT that I am restoring and have a few questions.....I recently replaced the ammeter, temp and oil pressure gauges on this tractor. The oil gauge seems to be working fine, the temp gauge is not working or so it seems we ran the tractor for a good 10-15 minutes and while the radiator heated up the block area where the temp gauge goes in was barely warm to the touch and the gauge wasn't moving. Secondly the ammeter gauge while running showed a discharge on it, not alot but alittle-so I'm baffled as to what exactly I'm not getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has the wiring diagram that Clooney sent out that was a corrected version, I'd appreciate that too. I can't get in touch with him.
Thx!

Those tractor take awhile to heat up with no water pump. If the termal sender hooks to the water manifold even longer , you might try switching your leads on the gauge .is it 12 or 6v? dont forget to premix your antifreeze

Temp gage - If the block by the temp sender is only warm to touch, temp gage is probably OK. It will take a long time to heat up at fast idle. Try working the tractor (plow, disc, etc), otherwise, put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to block airflow.

Amp gage - may be wired backwards, if a 3 brush gen, the 3rd brush may need adjustment, or other things. Try a search on this forum, lots of good info on generator testing and troubleshooting.

Try this web site, they have the wiring diagram for an M, should be close for an MT.

Good Luck - I just finished restoring a 49 M, fun little tractor. Currently working on a 53 40T.
