Quick Solenoid Help

Just installed the new starter and solenoid. I noticed the post that has "bat" is opposite of how the original solenoid was installed. The small post was originally towards the tractor now the small post is to the outside. Which is correct?

Forgot to mention 8n sidemount.

the orginial is mounted with the small terminal towards the engine. you should have voltage to the small terminal when mounted correctly. It takes a ground to the small terminal to engage the solenoid.

Thanks. This is an original style solenoid bought from this site. Confused as to why the post that says "bat" is opposite. This is my second starter in a month so I dont want to mess it up with wiring the solenoid backwards.

If it is marked wrong, it will just not work I would try it and if it does not work I would reverse it. IMHO

Well apparently it was marked wrong cause it wouldnt work backwards.
