I have a problem, or a concern with my R John Deere, It has oil in the radiator..The tractor starts like a charm and runs great and also seems to have plenty of power, but I am concerned about the oil in the water. Anyone have any answers for me??? Lee

I would say it is probably a better than average chance that a crack has opened up in the head. I have my father's '53 R and the only problem we ever had with it was cracked the head once or twice pulling a 4-16 plow in heavy muck. Just a guess. What have you been doing with it?

Thanks for the reply about the R john Deere, I havent done anything with it yet.. I bought the tractor a little over a year ago,Ive done a few things to it to make it run better, I dont use it for anything just nice to have it around and listen to it run once in awhile. When I get done with my other projects I probably will tear it down and try to figure out what is the problem.. Thanks for the info..

At least you are not getting engine oil into the transmission..!
Those "R"'s are simply amazing, as far as sheer POWER is involved (at Factory Settings)...!!!

Ron..
