Radiator shutters

Won an auction on Facebook. Got some shutters for my '44 A. Already found a small gas starter tank. It has the multi fuel manifold. Anyone have a picture of where the control rod goes? It didn't come with one. But I bet we can find something close that will work. Thanks

Sorry about sideways pictures. I thought I figured it out....grrrr.

Runs the left side of the tractor and is controlled by a lever similar to the throttle control and is mounted near the choke control. Shoot me an email and I will try to send you a pic tomorrow if we don't get blown away.

I'll have to look around and see if I have any of the linkage. You know I have a lot of parts tractors laying around 2 parts A/C Cs which many parts will fit you B. Plus a few parts B Farmalls and many parts fit that A

If I think about it tomorrow I'll take a picture of my Super C. I bought a nice shutter for it on eBay years ago minus the rear half of the linkage and the adjustment quadrant lever. I made that stuff, should look the same I think.

Do you have access to and intend to run "distillate" or "tractor fuel"?

If NOT, NO need for the shutters.

That's what they were used for.

I made my own control rod assembly for my red tractor, works just fine. 3/8 rod, a crank handle, and I made it so when I crank it, it only pulls as the handle rotates, pulls or pushes the shutter working part. Works just fine, sorry, no ability about taking a picture. Gotta be inventive.

No. BUT I have access to tractor shows. And a love of old equipment. And I enjoy showing it to folks. I didn't really need the small gas tank either......and I guess I should change the all fuel manifold.......dont really need it either

Not "all fuel" or "multi fuel" The tractor starts on gas, but then is switched to distillate fuel. The manifold is a distillate manifold. Not a multi fuel manifold.

"multi fuel" is a John Deere term.

I have a set I bought from Rich (old) many years ago. I have never gotten around to putting them on my Farmall B. I imagine they are the same as yours. I cannot guarantee that I can find them because I have been moving all my shop and tractor stuff to a new shed, but if you want measurements of the rod, let me know. I will look for them.

The front rod is about 26 inches with two bends under the generator pully. The rear is about 45 inches with two bends where it goes through the air cleaner brkt. The aluminum turn buckle under the carb. is for a brace like might be found on an old screen door from top corner to opposite bottom corner to keep from sagging. The rod is 5/16.
I made the lever on the adjuster quadrant, used the 10 gauge post out of an alternator, ground the square off the rear side into a lug to fit the quadrant..

The A and B use the same shutters and also same linkage. Linkage runs under generator up to the pipe that supports the steering wheel. From there you have to drill a hole in pipe and run it through it. End of rod has a crank formed at the end. The super A uses the throttle looking control. Instructions are in the Special Attachment manual. If your going to use them a temp gauge kit is needed.... don't want to overheat by accident. Useful in the winter for sure
