Posted a while back on ideas to free up piston
on my gp. It's been soaking in kerosene for
about 2 to 3 months now. Many have said complete
tear down. Gave her a little tug on the starter
wheel and she freed right up. Changed oil and
started right up and ran like a champ. Patience
always prospers.

Glad you got it freed up, I have unstuck a lot of JDs in the past, some were easy and sum vere a bear, depends on how bad they are rusted.
By the way, the starter wheel you refer to,is called a fly wheel.

Hi Glad you got lucky thats saved some hassle and a good few bucks on parts and machine shop time .
I had some similar luck here to last month. Brought 2 fordsons with P6 diesels last October .
Both stuck solid no known confirmed history but believed to be sat 40 years, when i started investigating them, somebody had pored used motor oil down the mufflers at sometime in the 40 odd years.
Both came free and got them fired up with a few simple things done. only sad thing is one has a frost cracked block, and had very low oil in the motor, when last used. when I checked it before draining it.
Looks like they ran it low and knocked all the crank bearings out. she runs like a sewing machine, but one that hasn't been oiled for 10 years, and it was put away damp L.O.L.
Some ya win at the end of the day, I'm still ahead with 1 good runner from the pair. Good luck with the rest of the project.
Regards Robert
