Here is Big Hoss(Named after Hoss in Bonanza). Some of you might recognize it because a guy posted on here earlier this spring who was looking at it. I bought it about 3 weeks ago for $4000 and have about $1000 in it to get it back into service. The steering problem ended up beeing splines stripped out of the pitman arm. I bough a new one through Maibach, put some new tie-rods on from Korves and the steering problem was solved. We also foud out that there was a half inch of alge growing in the fuel tank so we had to take it out and have it cleaned with M.E.K because nothing else would touch it. Other than that the rest was just maintinence, I changes all the fluids, and filters, new air cleaner, a little rewireing and some cosmetic stuff. We were told that it was a 1971 but the serial tag was knocked off so that will be the next big hurtle. But for now its time for some fun. I borrowed a 9-shank Athens chisel plow from one of my dads friends and I have 70 acres to chisel with it this spring, privided our Michigan weather quits beeing stupid. Ide be willing to bet I am one of the few 17 year olds that can say they own a 1955, and I love this thing. It handles like a dream, and with the swept back axel it turns on a dime., now I just really want to be able to use it.
P.S. A thanks goes out to JMeyer for the sway blocks. Without them the tractor would be kinda useless.
