Does anyone in the pulling world need a needle berring carrier for there pulling tractor i can set you up . All the power in the world wont do you any good if you cant go stright down the track.

What advantage is there to a needle bearing carrier? Is it better than a posi setup and how?? I have been trying to sort it out and can see it in certain applications but not for a help in traction. Case pullers that I know needle their side gears to the diff shaft BUT to keep them from gaulding together under high speed spinning of one wheel when it looses traction and the other stays tight to the track. I have seen that failure in straight ag applications let alone in the smokers where thousands of HP are the norm. Why do you needle, I'd like to know what traction advantage is gained. mEl

I am interested in the price to set a D17 up. My JD was turning and jumping around. The spider gears were loose and worn out. Now you can drive it with your body, and if you have to push a brake it will come back gradually. You other guys probably should put posi-traction in your tractors, give me more of a chance LOL Vic 618 838 2225

Hey Mel,

On our M-6(diesel), dollar for dollar the needle differential put the most feet on our pulls. Probably the best money spent. It takes off smoother and straighter, and when you do need to brake, the tractor reacts to just a touch of the brake. Before putting it in you could darn near bend the brake pedal and it wouldn"t straighten out unless you left off of the throttle. Then it overadjusted and you"d need to do the same thing once you got to the opposite boundary - did a lot of zig zagging before the needles went in.

We liked it so much we put in in our H too more as an experiment than anything, but I think it has been a good decision. It"s probably a little overkill, but it takes virtually no power when you need to brake it which is a big help in some cases. It"s very easy to feather the brakes and get a nice gradual response to get you heading where you want to go and the engine never notices that you hit the brakes.

Whats the rearend for and how much . Mel most dont buy them untill they damage the rearend and like to wreck the rig when one side locks up due to the rpms burning up the dope and stock bearings.
