Rear rims ID

Been looking for a parts tractor for my early 8N and ended up with this one today.

Paid $700 (had to take the brush hog with it). I couldn't read the serial number and the seller didn't know the model year - he inherited from his dad. The rear rims are a different type than my 48. Do they reveal anything about the year?

The rear rims, hat rims, were the original type. Rt side distributor is a indicator of maybe pre '50-51 [not an expert here]. Cast numbers behind starter on bell housing will help. Cast #on trumpets will help id it.

All of the Ford tractors from the 1939 9N through the 1954 NAA originally came with those "hat rims". When they rusted out many owners replaced them with "6 loop rims". Does your tractor have replacement 6 loop rims?

The more I find about this new "parts tractor", (much original, 6 volt, straight metal) the more it looks like my current tractor should be the parts donor.

Those are original rims. The sheet metal on that one looks like its in pretty good shape. What does your good tractor look like?

My working tractor is beat up, but runs good. Hood and a dog leg needs replace and it has quite a few welds. This new one hasn't been worked as hard, or at least it was treated better. I may make it my primary tractor. Don't really need two working tractors, but want a parts donor.
