just got my john deere D all back together it has steel wheels on the back took off steel spades and was thinking about using two old rear tires by cutting the side walls out and bolting to the rear rims has anybody had any luck in doing so? any other ideas on this idea? want to be able to drive on blacktop roads don't really want to use cutoff rims thanks for any ideas

You do know the D came out with either steel wheels or rubber tires don't you?? Call this guy I'm sure he would have rims for it. 1-888-6-sharps. Ask for Donnie, he has probably 700 plus JD tractors and he sells used part and re man parts also

It will work.It will not tear up blacktop roads. I am sure you realize it will still be a rough ride unless blacktop is really smooth.
