Reassembly Needed.

First things first, I am NOT looking for a hand out, Not looking for donations. I have a Farmall Super A that is in the middle of being restored, my younger brother has taken the tractor apart, rebuilt the engine, and he was diagnosed with terminal cancer before we could get it back together. I need someone who can get this tractor put back together. He states the tractor is ready to be started, I do not know enough about the mechanics side to know how far along he is with it. I do know he labeled all the bolts in individual baggies when he took it apart, there are no parts missing. I have already purchased new rims, tires, tubes, and the tractor has been stripped of paint. I am looking for someone who will reassemble the tractor. I can deliver and pick up the tractor to your shop. Does anyone know of someone who knows how to put this tractor back together?

Welcome to the YT Forum. Where you are located is really important in getting an answer to your needs. Jim

Tractor people seem to find each other, I know that’s the case in my area. Does he have a circle of friends who share the hobby? I’d start locally then expand to the internet.

Search for a nearby/local antique tractor club. Those guys are motivated by old iron. Some can just look at a bolt and tell you where it fits.
I'm sorry to read about your brother. I lost mine to cancer when he was 14; I can relate to your feelings.

If you are close to Sylacauga, AL and can deliver it to us ,my wife and I can put it back together for y'all. Text or call We bought the Farmall B in a million pieces.... roughly 3 weeks later it drove out of the barn. It was a mess, but a fun project. Added a few pictures of others we have done

I believe I have been in contact with someone on Facebook messenger about this, maybe your brother?

GPLove - I pray the Lord will smile on you and your wife. That is about the kindest offer I have heard of in years. I have great respect for those like you who will put your faith into actrion. Well done.

it looks like he is going about the job correctly. next would be to get the engine running . dont need coolant in it ,just make sure its in running order , just a start for less than one minute. then you know thats ok. it is a long way from being ready to start. then once that complete and ok'ed it can be primed and painted the way its sitting there. then continue cleaning the parts and painting them as the assembly goes. another good idea is to have another super A sitting there as this will be your pattern to follow for the assembly. even a parts book is good. u have a big time consuming job ahead. plus u need an experienced painter for the job also. with all that work going into the project you will want it looking better than new for your brother, complete with all decals. good luck.

I got a call this morning from my brother, and he had Grandpa Love on the phone. I didnt tell my brother I had posted anything on YT but he asked and I couldnt lie, so I admitted I did. The two of them had been talking after my brother had posted on Facebook about his tractor, apparently Grandpa Love recognized the photos of the tractor. I am going to take the tractor and pieces to Grandpa Love down in Alabama, I hope Grandpa Love will continue to post on here and maybe share pictures of the progress.

Very cool! My hat is off to ya.

My wife and I delivered the tractor parts and pieces to Grandpa Love in Alabama. I must say he was a class act, not sure why he goes by Grandpa Love because he aint old! We met his wife and she was a really sweet person. We are happy to have met them and grateful they took on the project. I will update this thread when I know more but since its my brothers tractor I will be relying on second hand information. All the way around its an encouraging start to an otherwise rotten situation. Please remember all involved in your prayers, always be thankful for the gifts you have been blessed with, both the blessings seen and the unseen.

Kevin and Renee will take care of you. They are very well respected on this site. Most of the time I'm just flat amazed with their projects. steve

"Grandpa Love" ......my daughter and her husband have 3 kids. My step daughter and her husband have 3 kids. And now one of our ( me and Renee ) sons and his wife are expecting..... 😎. Finishing up a fence job and we will get started on this project. We have sorted everything and texted the brother numerous times since everything was delivered.
