Hello, I picked up a farmall regular yesterday as my fathersday to me gift and wanted to ask a few questions about it. Serial number 41770, engine number is QC41769. Built in '28 as a 1929 model? No remnants of starting tank or plumbing, were any gasoline models from factory? Would the spark advance rod be the same as an F20? Is there supposed to be anything in the air cleaner bowl, this one is just an empty cup? Basically a pretty complete old tractor, on cutoffs all around but at least they are 38 rears. Turns over with compression so I guess that is one positive for the bottom exhaust on a tractor that has been sitting out for 25 plus years. Thanks, Mike

IH model years changed in november, yours was built in october making it a 28. All regulars came with two fuel tanks, with the small vertical gas tank behind the main tank, but could have been changed later. The air cleaner cup is supposed to be full of oil up to the embossed ridge with the same wt. oil as in the crankcase.

In reguards to the air cleaner cup, I guess what I meant to ask was there ever a baffle or any other parts at were supposed to be in the cup? Thanks for the info on the year, one year older is even better. Thank you.

nothing in the cup, the baffle and other parts are attached to the cleaner body.

"Collectors originality guide farmall Regular and F series" is the best reference around, you should look into getting it.
