used my new Remington electric pole saw today. nice light powerhouse, cut up to 8 inch dry wood with no problem worked it for about 2 hours .i did not hook up the pole part but if it works as good as the saw alone i will not be disappointed.
just wanted it known i like the saw and only 99.99 bob w.

I have the non-pole version for pruning when it is not worth it to dig out the gas saw. My mom, 79, has the pole version. No complaints on either. Find you a source of the little oiler bulbs and keep a couple on hand. If it gets bumped just right on a limb, they pop out and are easily lost.

Tex, was wondering where is the source of oiler bulbs. Are they the same as the primer bulbs they put on weedeaters? Is there a generic match or do I hafta go to dealer for each different machine. Darn rabbits ate the bulb offa the lawnmower. Maybe they are tryin to tell me something...
Also used the 10" pole saw mentioned for two yrs pruning giant pepper tree. Cuts slick. Caution when extended - when the saw cuts through some effort is needed to catch or stop the pole and saw from coming down fast. Gets dicey when the branch is also headed your way. Be safe..

I bought my Remington pole saw last year from a discount store as reconditioned. I've used it to trim several branches from my roof and other places and it worked great. I like it.

I have the same saw. I also have the remington electric saw minus pole.. had it since 1994 have use dthe heck out of it and cut every kind of junky dirty wood and roots i could find when doing light clearing around the farm. Bars a bit worn and has some broke plastic.. bt the old one still runs good when you pull the switch. If the new one lasts this long I'll be a happy camper..

Yep, wore out my first Remington pole saw. Bought another and while its a bit different from the first, its better designed. Also have a non pole Remington electric as well as a gas Sthil. The Stihl is a fine machine but for small jobs you can"t beat an electric.

I do use the bulb some but also have a can of oil and a paint brush to swab the chain and bar after a few cuts.

Early this year I was on a 7 foot step ladder going after an 8 inch limb with the pole. Limb came down in the wrong direction and knocked me off the ladder. I remember hitting the ground flat on my back and before my head hit I said to myself "this is going to hurt." It did. Concussion, emergency room, the whole nine yards. DW says I"m grounded from ladders. Now I need a longer pole.
