remove inner axle bearing ?

1940 H. Is there a way to get a hold of the inner axle bearing and pull it out of the housing without removing the axle first ?

I think you can take the lock ring out then push in on the axle (IIRC). on the one with the retainer off the balls, you could use a slide hammer with a hook to go in and reach the other side (maybe in several places) by rolling the balls around. Jim
