Replacing Hydraulic Pump on IH 424

I have a 1967 IH 424 and a year ago the main hydraulic hose burst. Since then the hydraulics lift fine when it first cranks but over a little time they cease to lift without help. I have bought a new hydraulic pump and will be putting it on in the next couple of weeks. What is the best hydraulic oil that I can use and if anyone has any pointers on removing and replacing the pump it will be greatly appreciated.

make sure you pull your suction filter out and clean it at the least. it is located in the lift top on the passenger side where the hose/tube goes in there. Just pull it out. Should be held with an o-ring. Can be a bit tough to get it out as old as these machines are. If your tractor has an auxillary valve, it might have a different setup.
