48 8n front mount.got stripped threads on bottom post on resister, can the post be changed or do i need to replace the whole deal ? thanks guys........

the resistor is light weight, you could put a light coat of anti seize or oil on the threads, pack it with JB weld, put the bolt back in, let it sit overnight remove the excess JB Weld and reinstall the resistor block could retapp the bolt hole with a bottom tap also 5/16 x#18 thread.
put tape on the back of the resistior so you dont get JB Weld on it.

guess I didn't splain rite the stripped post is on the terminal block wher ignition wires attach. can i jast remove the block and replace the post or do I need to buy a new part ?

I think the posts are simply flat head screws run up from the back with the first nut securing them. Take the 2 larger bolts out and check.

sailor......a good fixxer-upper could fix the busted terminal bolt with a "flat-head" screw (10-32x3/4"?) from the backside and 2-matching nuts on the frontside. 2nd-nut is to hold one of the ignition switch wires. See how simple that is??? Don't allow the backside screwhead to protrude and touch the dash metal. Tape is good insulator, eh? .......Dell
