Revised bumper

Has anyone out there reworked the original bumper/grill guard for the front of a TO-20 so that it doesn't prevent opening the hood? Maybe a style that folds down? Thanks in advance!

Put Bumper Swing in the forum search and there is a post about a swing-away style bumper. Neat idea.

bumpers on these tractors vary from place to place and what the dealer sold, the first type I see had no cut for the hood the ones on most TO30 has a cut out both let the hood open the early one did let the hood hit.

If you want to look under the photo ads there is a, original Ferguson bumper that is far enough forward to allow the hood to be opened

I have also got a front loader on my TO 30. I have to remove the entire hood when I need to fill the gas tank. What a pain! I also can not have a front grill because the pump for the loader gets in the way.

I took a standard front bumper from a Ford which is just a piece of formed channel with a piece of formed flatiron welded to it(no grill guard on it) with a hole for a hitch pin and then took two pieces of 1x2x7" flat and drilled a hole in each end...bolted it to the inside axle bolts and the front hitch with the hitch turned upside down to make it as high as possible (flat formed piece was welded below center)and the hood clears it just fine. Black paint made it look just fine...kinda factory looking. ohfred
