RFD tv is going HD!

Those old tractors are going to look real goos in HD. plus they plane on running them seperate at some times and will make a great channel even better. I LOVE RFD TV

Amen. That was the only reason I had a dish. I have now turned it off. The same few shows over and over. A good supply of those horses though. Horses play a very small part in farming now days. All mine done was eat, so down the road they went.

I used to love RFD but all signs show that they must be having finacial problems. What does it cost to film a guy talk about horses? The reruns are way far over the edge. All I see is horses or a cattle auction with a auctioneer with a big wad of chew and a speach problem, can't understand a word he says.
The tractor reruns are filmed by a five year old with a fifty dollar camera. I used to love it then,-- I kept checking it out, -- now I don't bother flicking to it at all. I hope they survive and fire the program manager.

I doubt there having finical problumes if they plan on adding a channel. plus they just built rfd the theater. All of there programming is based on what the viewers demand. i agree they do repeat things. But all the tractor shows seam to be no more than 2 years old. they do rerun them thru the week. itn doesent bither me as i dont watch what i dont like. I would rather have them be on the air then not have them. I use my ultimate tv recorder so i guess i don't watch anything i dont choose to record.

BFD.

23 hours a day of horse shows and poorly concealed infomercials for yuppies and wannabes.

The other hour is a rerun of one of the 6 episodes of Machinery of the Past that they own, or a tractor pull from 4 years ago.

I may have to kill Army Armstrong if I ever get close enough...

Maybe a couple are only 2 years old. most if not all of the Classic Tractor fever shows are going on 10 years old now, if they even show those anymore.A few are around 5, and some they have only showed once and I have never seen them again. A couple of years back they havd Talking Tractors, but after 4 reruns in one year, they sucked. Its not RFDs fault, they dont make the shows. The yjust buy them.

Ah, don't forget about "Training Donkeys and Mules." My favorite show.

Actually, the best show on that channel is the "Prairie Farm Report."

Yea I emailed the pres of the network and told him the same thing. The guy took offense at my remark. TOOOO much horse stuff for my blood. Also the ads are starting to creep in too. I know it takes money to run a network but some of the other networks are off the wall with advertizing.

They were doing right well. The kids use to ride them all the time, but when they were grown, they lost interest in them and took up girls and motorcycles. I was stuck with the horses and I didn't ride enough to offset the hay and grass they consumed, so I got rid of all 9 of them and put 10 more cows on the place. I don't know about your horse or horse, but all I have ever had were eating every time I saw them.

I was trying to make a joke...Horses that eat but didn't sh!t would explode sooner or later.

Got NO interest in horses, don't throw my leg over anything that ain't got handlebars and brakes...

For the most part RFDTV doesn't produce anything, tractors horses or otherwise. Most of the programs are independantly produced and the ones that get shown are based on how much advertising money they bring in and how much advertising time the producers of the videos buy.

If you want more tractor shows you need to hire an a film crew and talking head to produce one. Then you have to buy advertising time to promote the show and the advertising to sell the video. The best example of that is the Half Century of Progress Show. Seen the ads lately? You won't believe the advertising expenditures for that program.

They left me plenty of manure. One good thing I guess. I am using it on the garden now. I still have 3 huge mounds of it. When I cleaned the corrals I would pile it up and save it for gardening.

I compost all my animal waste from my sheep and chickens. Useta park a trailer at a local "horse person's" place and she'd call me when it was full. A couple of loads of good horse manure will really get a compost pile cookin'...

Whatever happened to their idea of charging an extra couple of bucks a month for RFD? They recently changed channels on DISH (to 231), and I figured thats how they were going to implement the extra charge- but we still get it, and don't pay extra. Maybe decided they would lose so many viewers that they'd lose more in advertising than the fee would gain.
