Rhino Crawler ??

Neighboring pasture I rent from a man in N.M. has a Rhino crawler setting on it. I ask why it hasnt moved in 3 years. When he comes up each summer he clears off a few ceders and repairs fences. Said the tranny wont hold fluid..Had it repaired in N.M. then hauled it up to N.E. Ks. and used it 2 days and the seal blew out again. What do you guys think. Should I offer to buy it and try to fix it or are they a problem breed to stay away from? Cute little thing.

Are you talking about a chinese Rhino, painted blue, looks like the one Northern sells? If so, take your left arm, and extend it out vertically, take your right arm, and extend it out horizontally, and slowly back away from the crawler, LOL!

They are junk, some folks get them and have agood one and get good service out of them. I have seen folks tinker with them and some on a chinese tractor site that do tricks to them but its alot of trouble. The UC p parts are funky, the front idles on most Ive seen are a sprocket. They are good to pinch things and walk the tracks off. A fellow down the road sells Yanmar, McCormick and Branson tractors For a while he sold Chinese tractors and honored their warranties. He said one tractor almost broke him. He had a Jinma dozer same as the rhino and it was junk like a bad penny it as back every few weeks. Finally a carport lot got it and I think its in the weeds now.
A friend of mine's father in law bought one new in TN and the idler sprockets ketp going bad either bearing failures or excessive wear. They changed the style of UC at the factory and from then on we had to make them in my shop. I finall ytalked him into buying a Grey market Komatsu wich was heavier and still able to get parts for it.

Thanks for the info. This one happens to be construction yellow, but that doesnt mean anything. I will see if I can tell if its an import. Thought maybe it was made by the Rhino impliment people that manufacture blades and post augers and such.
