Rice Specials

What did the G1000 Rice Specials come with that made them "Special"? Were there other models that were Rice Specials?

Just wondering I'm not in rice country.

I have always wondered that myself. I have a G 1000 Wheatland diesel I bought in Wharton, Texas which is southwest of Houston. That area of Texas was and still is rice country. My tractor says wheatland on the hood but I know it was a rice tractor because it has 23.1 x 30 rice and cane tires on the rear plus a full set of weights inside the wheels. It also has the single rib tires on front which were helpful in steering thru mud and soft ground. Other than that it looks pretty much like any other wheatland I have ever seen. I first saw a G 1000 wheatland when I was 16 years old and always wanted one. I'm 57 know and have owned this onefor 30 years. I just spent a small fortune rebuilding the engine after I spun a rod bearing but I could not bear to part it out. I have 3 other MM's but this one is my favorite. I live in east Texas and MM's are pretty rare around here.

Here is a picture of my G1000 rice special. It came from south Texas around Houston.

You in Texas?Where and when did you find that? Correct, but I"ve head stories bout a old MM dealer/parts yard that was on or near what is now a high school(cinco Ranch high school) near Katy,TX and was wondering if that was one of the survivors or did you get from Wharton or some where around there?

Im in katy, the old moline dealership was just north of the john deere dealership in a round top barn its still there the building that is.

My g1000 said weatland on the hood also but had the same tires you talked about. it came off the side of a rice feild when i got it.

I got the tractor closer to Central TX where I live. The previous owner told me he got from it from around Housto. I think some FFA boys painted it red for some reason. The tractor should be yellow. The engine crankcase is yellow because it came from another tractor.
