(quoted from post at 08:21:28 11/25/11) In all cases, longer rod equals more torque & greater efficiency.
no replacement for displacement and rod length has no factor in formula for displacement.stroke and bore do

(quoted from post at 02:23:39 11/24/11) in building a large stroker moter is it better to have short or long rods whats the advantages and disadvantages?
Longer rod gives more favorable rod angles thus reducing side loads in the bore...This considering your talking about a low RPM stroker engine VS a high rpm engine...bottom line is stroke=torque.

In an ideal world, longer rods are better. However there is only so much room in a tractor chassis between the oil pan and hood.
As long as possible without compromising strength and reliability elsewhere.

yeah agreed but I wouldnt ever give up a 1/4 inch stroke for a 1/4 inch or 1 inch of rod length. 8 inch rod 6 inch stroke 1.33 8.5 inch rod 1.41 etc.
