Looks to me like we are doing a pretty good job of saving a wide variety of combines. I started collecting combines because every one has a tractor. To me a combine was one of the best improvements ever made for the farm. Remember the K&O Club will feature combines in 2011. We had 7 or 8 displayed last year.

Don't currently own a combine, but have owned John Deere 55, 95, and 105 combines, and know them inside and out.

Given the money. time, and somewhere to put them, a 55, 95, 105, all diesel hydros with QT feederhouses and a selection of heads, also a square-back 96 and 106 pull-types, and a square-back 95H. Since this is dream-world stuff, I'd love to have an example of every model JD ever built, might as well go high, right?

But, since the above will never happen due to age and other restrictions, I have learned to content myself with collecting literature on all models of JD combines. It's far from complete, but have been lucky enough to get some rare pieces. Also interested in the JD combines built in Europe and Brazil. Anybody ever see or hear of the "Canadian Special" combines?

The tractor pulling bug has bitten hard so I recently purchased a single charger 180 Allis alky burner in Kentucky. In 2010 I'll be pulling the 6000 SS class with MSTPA.Heres a video of it from 2008 when it had 6080 AC sheet metal. Its 326 cubes, makes nearly 1000 horses at 6000 rpms and will go down the track 3 times faster than anything that I've ever pulled.I just hope that it stays together.

A retired neighbor that I rent from has an 80 sitting in the weeds...cylinder bearing went out and he parked it... parts machine by now. He's talked about scrapping it, but doesn't move too fast. Too bad you're not closer to n/w WI. Maybe I should buy it and part it?

If it has a good rasp bar cylinder and concave I would be interested. I think I would also need the side sheet (this is the sheet metal you would unbolt to pull the cylinder out the right side). Every now and then somebody in my circle of friends and associates takes a little trip:) a cylinder and concave would fit nicely in the back of a pickup, or on the top deck of a trailer.

Some of the wisconsin machines were "bean specials" they had spring tooth cylinders instead of rasp bars. Im not sure if your in dry bean country or a grain area. I already have lots of spring tooth parts. That would be the first thing to check.

I'm not in a big hurry, I cut beans and grain with the 2 715s I'd just like to run a little grain with the pull type someday. Drop me an e-mail if you get it and want to part it out.

Well I hesitate to post as I don't collect, only have an older one to use. Reno County, KS for me.

I have a Gleaner C II. Think it is a 1967 but don't remember for sure what the seller told me. It is a gasoline model.

Kind of ashamed to say that I haven't used it for several years now so don't remember, but I think it has a 20 foot header. Steel batts.

Wouldn't mind having an old Massey Harris 21A, or a Baldwin pull type powered with a Hercules, both like we had when I was a kid.

Fellow not too far away has offered me a Massey that is quite small, don't remember the model. Would probably buy it but no inside storage so I'd rather he have it and me miss the chance at it later.

Would like one of the Amish pull types used near here--some sort of John Deere and fairly new.

Sort of have a fondness for a Gleaner A as well.
I only have 16 acres so it doesn't see much usage even during the years I do have wheat.

My only combine is a Allis 66 Big Bin. It gets used every year at my place and occasionally at our local antique show. I'm a little envious of Curtis Rink with all his Minni Mo Uni's. My Dad tells me stories of the one they had when he was a kid. If you ever want to downsize, Curtis, you know who to call!

Until scrap went up I new where there were several 82s and 80s just laying around rotting. I kind of wish now I would have bought a few of them. I don't have a spare spreader but if you would like a picture or measurements give a shout. Appreciate the advice offer on changing cylinders.
The other thing I might do is look around for a complete 82 with the cylinder already in. Have one for soys and one for grain that way:)
There used to be a nice one on Tractor House, but it was in Minnesota and more $ than I really wanted to spend on it.

3.) I would love a 21 or 2344 Case IH for combining, the 717 is no land killer, and the rest are mostly just toys. Ran a rock into my 315 head this fall doing soybeans, wrecked the auger, distinct reminder of what it feels like to try to fix toys. I hope to use the 858 for all my corn combining in the future. Phasing out the Uni huskers, going back to 234's if the Uni isn't hydrostatic drive...

I am looking at and trying to buy a Gleaner E3 locally and I need a grain header for it. It has a corn header currently.I intend to restore it to full operation and use it as a small scale harvester for specialty grains and bean crops. DO you have any contact information on where I might find headers for this combine ?

Rick, west Mn near Battle Lake.

No bines but one old Owatanna 250 swather.

Combine is in my future as I put the family farm back into operation.
