Will a rototiller attachment work on my 59 power major diesel? im new to the whole tractor thing. it has dual clutch and live pto, it runs well but i was wondering if it was to fast in forward gear for it. thanks jim

If it will move at a very slow walk wound up in first gear it will do OK. I could get off and walk around my 160 with it wound up in 1st low and it tills great.

thanks i think it might be a little fast at full throttle, but it might work. does the rear pto rpm slow down with the throttle or just the power of the attachment? thank you jim

The PTO is usually driven through a gear train from the engine so with the engine slowed, the PTO slows down too.

Many tillers need a creeper gear, probably 1/2 mph. But check the tiller makers for their ratings.

i was just wondering why you want a tiller. tillers aren't made to work on hard ground with. they are used mostly to prepare a very fine seed bed. some people think they can buy a tiller and not need a turning plow or disk. tillers just were not meant for that rough of a job. if your tractor is to fast you can always just go back over the ground a second time. i like to do that with mine and i try to run at an angle to the first passes i made.

i was thinking for the garden areas but i only have an acre so i wasnt sure if it was useable for other areas. like to make money with jim
