Round baler

What kind of round baler requires the least amount of horsepower? What would be a "minimum Hp requirement to run a round baler. I had the oportunity to pick up a small 4x4 round baler with rope type tie for a song and dance but wasn't sure if 42 horse would run it.

I would think a baler that small would work just fine with 42HP. I know my Oliver 77 which is 38 will almost handle my NH850 is things are just right so a 4X4 baler should take a lot less HP then a 6X6 one does plus a chain baler takes more HP because it is heavier

I pull a hesston 5530 with a d-10 Allis Chalmers, that is supposed to be 35 HP.

I have a vicon 4x5 round baler that I pull with a DB rated at 44 hp and it does a good job
