Round or square rear axles

Hi is everyone dug out of the snow?hey Deere junkies I was wondering do you think there is more of a preference with John Deere on the rear axles or not I was looking at some A,s trying to determine what will be more sought after in the long run. be careful out there!

The name "John Deer" clearly visible when standing
behind and looking @ the rear of the tractor with the letters painted in Yellow is a striking sight to me and I like seeing it, and it obviously indicates that that paticular model of tractor is older than the rest.. but I am just one of many opinions about this

The late A's with a square axle also have the six speeds all on one stick and these have always been more popular. The other A's more popular than these would be unstyled with an open fanshaft.

I like the square axles especially A s made after serial # 700200 with different frames, flywheels, flywheel covers, and a waterpump.

Round axles were common on earlier Deere's. On the B, they changed over in the 1949 model year. Square axle is far safer than the round. I'slipped when stepping on round axle with wet work shoes, and hurt myself numerous times. Square axles are far safer to step on!
