Rubber Boot on Three Point

I gotta question - on my 135 there is a rubber boot that is on the upper toplink bracket. The old boot failed and fell apart after 40 odd years. I have the new boot from acgo and I have loosened the two bolts that hold the top link bracket to the plunger.

How do I remove the plunger so I can fit the new boot on it? I looked at the parts book online but I can't come up with a way of getting it off. My shop manuals are buried in my storage unit so I can't readily gain access to them right at the moment (I know I need to get them.)

I'd appreciate whatever help you all could offer.

Thanks,

Christos

The plunger has to come out and then the yoke taken off of it. It has to be re-installed and properly tensioned for the 3 pt. to work properly. An MF dealer should be able to make you a copy of what to do from the service manual. There is a set screw that stops the big nut holding back the spring on the plunger from loosening. Use a dull punch to remove the funny shaped nut. There is a special tool but it shouldn't be too hard to turn once the set screw is loose. I broke my plunger and it was fairly easy to fix. I got Heritage line parts and I think the new plunger and yoke were only around $60 so I was happy. There is some info in the archives on here for adjusting the plunger and the spring tension. Dave
