Rural Picture Voter-WISE

sorta O/T....Some unreported stats about the 2008 election ,.,, Looks like where the tractors and livestock are We all Have alot in Common

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota,

points out some interesting facts concerning the 2008 Presidential election:

-Number of States won by: nnalert: 20; nnalert: 30

-Square miles of land won by: nnalert: 580,000; nnalert: 2,427,000

-Population of counties won by: nnalert: 127 million; nnalert: 143 million

-Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: nnalert: 13.2; nnalert: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory nnalert won was

mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens. nnalert territory mostly

encompassed those citizens living in rented or government-owned tenements and

living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency

and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty

percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental

dependency" phase.

If ya needle him too much, he'll start a new thread, get my riff there Bobbin?

I'm linen towards sewing this one up before somebody complains about our material. Seams like there's a lotta folks with no sense of humor...

I guess they just don't want anyone to TIE 'em to this sort of thing. Hate to suspender a good thing before everyone else takes a BELT at it.

Affirmative, big city loved him, however I was extremely amazed at the vote that the upstate rural New York bave to the nnalert.

Hmmm...I want to buy one of those rental properties where the owners don't pay taxes. Seems like, with the government paying the rent for the renters, PLUS no taxes on the land [since it's NOT included in the "land owned by taxpaying citizens"], it'd be a lead-pipe cinch you'd get rich real fast with that kind of a property.

Well...either THAT, or the writer didn't really mean what he said.

Actually, it's HAMLINE University. Our daughter had a scholarship interview there, once.

A similar quote/study was put out after the Bush/Gore debacle. Turns out none of the info or quotes were by the professor last time and as usual, the facts were stretched and as misleading as whoever put them out wanted them to be. Check out Snopes, this one will probably be shown to be the same.

Maybe you should look at a state by state map that shows how the counties voted. In Illinois, even in the counties McClain lost for the most part it was 51-48 until you got to Cook 75% external_link. And in the states I've looked at it was pretty much the way the Prof. outlined; urban areas O, rural M, college areas O. Seems to me pandering and big money won this election.

Doesn't that fake article usually include a comment about the number of cows or pigs or sheep in places won by each party?

Yes, I know the sheep lie, but how about those cows and pigs? Can you trust them?

nnalert now have senate, house and presidency- anything that happens after jan 21: economy, war, terrorism, domestic disputes on tax's is clearly their problem. nnalert can propose honest bills and say 'I told you so' to any nnalert mistakes. 2010 may see something like Newt Gingrich takeover of senate earlier- the nnalert 'change' didn't work so let nnalert try something that worked before. Next 2 years going to be interesting. RN

This thread seams to weave through all the possibilities. I think some folks really cotton to the idea, although, I felt many just didn't seam to at all.

According to the news TODAY the nnalert needed one more vote for full power and they DID NOT get it. So how do explain that?

j Heitkemper, I am not sure if you are lying or just passing along someone elses lies.

Anyway... The paper you posted is actually tied to the 2000 election.

The link you posted is a poll from October 2008.

This was NEVER published in Newsweek.

Professor Olson never published this either. You can write him at Hamiline University and he'll tell you himself that someone fabricated this, and used his name to make their lies appear credible.

As for the statistics you quote, those were pretty much made up in 2000, and don't have even a passing resemblance to the truth now.

Before you post this garbage you may want to check it for accuracy. This makes you look foolish.
