Rustoleum Spray Paint

HVC Iowa

New User
In the past I used Rustoleum "Ford Gray" spray paint to paint my work tractor. It is a rust fighter paint that I liked because of it's light shade of gray. I have been unable to find this particular paint and don't really want to switch to a different color of gray for other parts of my tractor. Do any of you know where or what stores still carry this paint? I last bought it at our local farm & home store.

I think the paint you are refering to was Rustoleum #7755 ( Light Olive). That is what I used and believe it is the closest color to the original gray that Ford used on the 8N's. I have no longer seen it in any of the paint departments of my local stores, but was told that it is still available by special order. I still have a couple of spray cans in case I need to do any touch up, but surely would like to see it on the stores shelves again.

Thanks for your reply. The gray paint that I have used has a sticker on it labeling it as "Ford Gray". I am at work and don't know what the number is on the label. I don't think it is the paint you are referring to, but like your paint, I wish they were still selling it at my local Farm & Home.

Thanks for the replies. I think the Engine enamal paint is too dark for what I am looking for. I will check the Tisco paint to see how close the color match would be. Thanks again to all.

The TISCO Ford Med Gray spray can TP 240 SP ($6.00 per can) along with quarts and gallons are available from Just 8Ns.

I just bought a single can to see how it looks but have not used it yet. The can label states that it is a 'Heavy-Duty Alkyd Oil-Bassed Formula' and 'Contains Rust Arrestor'. The label does not mention that the surface needs to be primed. I would think that priming would be very desirable and would result in an improved finish. Does anyone recommend a primer that works well with TISCO paint?

From the posts in the fourms I understood that it is one of the better paints to use for the 8Ns. Glad to hear that it is better or at least equal to the Rustoleum Spray Paint.

That's Ford corporate Grey,,, that's what I use on 9/2N's
