S-cam rollover

Toms got it right. Worn out brake parts.

IF your truck has the newer center pilot wheels then parts are very reasonable. New drums are around $60 each and the shoes, after the core credit, are around $50. So for about $200 and axle you can replace the drums and shoes.

Hello Sonja moore,

When that happens you have no brake pads left. The cam can travel/rotate over center. Both the drum and the brake are 100% worn out! Also you will need to change the S cam bushings, and possibly the Cam itself. If you are lucky, the drum will come off. Most of the time the drum has to be persuaded/broken with a sledge.
JD Seller gave you the price for the parts,

Worn out shoes and drums. Like has been mentioned... check the wear on the s-cams and their bushings and make a point of changing the pivot pins and bushings that the shoes rest on.
80-90 bucks each for shoes and drums is a more realistic figure here although it does vary depending on the shoe size and style. Be aware that there are different grades of drum and shoe... and the better ones cost more.
