I was just looking on the S-K tools site and they are having a buy one set-get one set free sale. I've always liked S-K and they are USA made. Just thought I'd pass this along.
 
Our SK tool truck at work told us that SK was going out of business. Seling off what they had in stock and ceasing manufactering tools anymore
 
That would be a shame if they closed down. I had a set of their tools. Very well made and took a lot of beatings from me. Had them until they left me one night.
 
I have had a few tools that grew their own legs and made their get away. I would just like to see them doing that.
 
One of the best Christmas gifts I ever got was an S-K 1/2 inch drive socket set with breaker bar and rachet, when I was about 16 (I'll be 62 in August). I was interested in mechanics, and my Dad was not, but he got me a gift I would cherish anyhow. I finally lost a socket out of the set about 10 years ago, but have since replaced it with an exact duplicate. I'll give it to my son when I'm done with it. Which I hope will not be very soon.

I'm sorry they are going out, but I guess its a sign of the times. Kind of glad I'm 61, not 31, and it pains me to say that. I wish my kids and grandkids well, but I honestly can't see how all this is going to turn out well.
 
Hello. I contacted them the other day for a rebuild kit for my ratchet and they said they would send one right out. Never mentioned anything of going out of business, but I don't know? I sure hope they keep making tools. They've always been good for me.
 
Sign of the times, they say 70% of the jobs in
this country are service or government jobs.
I know this does not concern S-K which I grew up
using and like. I bought a made in USA router for
my laptop. Had trouble with it and called IT (a
USA phone) twice. One time got a guy in the
Phillipines. Called a second time and got a girl
in New Delhi,India. The best our children and
grandchildren will be able to do is to flip
hamburgs part time at McDonald's.
