Safety Glasses

I have to ask how do you guys keep safety glasses and face shields from falling down so they are useless in hot weather or anytme you get al sweaty . I can't even keep glasses up and have trouble even in the winter if seaty with them. I could never wear google they are just to hot and cumbersome. I have to wear reading glasses anymore to see anything smaller than a tractor practically it seems. LOL I hate hot weather and it seems we have had our share this summer. I don't have any chaps and don't intend to get any.I'll probably quit using a saw before I get any too. Hearing I for get to take with me for the saw. Most other things I want to be able to hear if other things are about to happen like the crack of the tree as it starts to fall or other things in use at the time. Like in the combine or tractor I want to hear those small obscure noises that mean bigger trouble. And if a cab does not solve that part then it might just as well be in the junk pile. I can see where there are places for some of the safety things but in hot weather some of it is just not possible and survive the weather. I don't like to go wood cutting in hot weather anyway to hard on the saw.

"Huh, whats that your saying"

Say the old guys that never did hearing protection... "no I do not need hearing aids" is something else they always say.

I have been in a management roll in the ship building/repair industry for almost 20yrs and have heard every lame excuse why someone cannot use PPE, they are just that, an excuse not a reason.

Many also have the "I have been doing it this way for years" armor on, it does not work very well lol

What I don't understand is all the virtue signaling here.
"HEY look at MEEE! I wear appropriate safety protection for everything I do.
Today I got some tree cutting to do so I get to dress up in one of my favorite costumes. Chaps, apron, shin guards, gloves, safety boots helmet, safety glasses AND a face shield, hearing protection and stuff for dry lips too.
And don't forget the condums and Depends.
You know, just in case."

I don't give a rat's nose what you guys wear.
I assume you're adults and you're not stupid and you don't have a death wish. At least I hope you don't have a death wish.
I don't understand the chiding, hen pecking, bragging and moral superiority about it all.
Go cut your darned wood. Be safe about it.
Nuff said.

Some people can use common sense to keep safe. Here's another one for you. I know for a fact that I will not get my a$$ bitten off by a shark. How can I be so sure of that? I don't swim in the ocean.

I use them for most things and I wear glasses (finally, we've reached a point where manufacturers are designing them to be worn around them). I also wear hearing protection for basically anything loud I do as I'm paranoid about hearing loss.

If you wear glasses you know annoying they can be to clean up and keep clean so they get worn quite often for anything that might involve debris flying around me or above me. I even use them when spray painting since you can get it on them accidentally and that is a colossal pain in the behind since you basically have to chip it off them once it dries. HF sells them nice cheap ones that fit good and I toss them anywhere I can easily access them if needed.

Am I crazy or am I the only one who wears safety glasses or googles when cutting with a chain saw? I watch shows like Homestead Rescue or those Mountain Man shows and no one wears any eye protection when using a chain saw. I was watching one today with Marty Rainey using a chain saw on a massive tree in Hawaii and in a close up view, I could actually see him squinting his eyes to avoid the flying chips. Even on those logging shows I've never seen any of them wearing eye protection.

Please tell me I'm not the only crazy one for wearing eye protection.
I probably wouldn't wear safety glasses but I couldn't find the log to cut without them.
