We have a SC wich we are attempting to build as a puller my question is there any other head that will fit the SC motor other than the original thanks for any feedback

Doubtful from My Chair ,,,BUT WHO KNOWS !Someone might have a suggestion ?? ,,, I do know that a 44 head has been used on MY 1954 sc with no problems ,.,,
I Have Won lots of trophies Pulling a 51 DC ,.. My Favorite HORSE ,Personally , Would'nt waste my efforts on a sc ,,Show and No go tractor. The DC is TWICE the tractor of the sc in the SAME size iron package! MY 2 cents, Jim

I show high compression head #A2584AA. I don't recall if there was an LP head for the SC like big brother DC. Might have to just mill yours down.

Well my uncle bought it when my dad was 9 years old hes 61 now and im trying to do it for him personally i have a Allis WC wich has 53hp but there appears to be a lot more motor to work with in it the valves in the SC seem to be offly small but theres no room to make them larger

I think the head casting number that ends with "17" is the higher compression head. The other casting number ends in "18". The SC has a low engine cubic inch displacement for the weight of the tractor. I have 5 of them, but the SC wouldn't be my first choice for a pulling tractor. If I were going to build one, I think the VAC, DC or CC would be a better choice. You can put the internal components out of a 148 cu. in. engine in a VAC block.
