School Me On The 990

Saw a David Brown on a YouTube video (white sheet metal, brown body) and recalled seeing a few of them around here and western NC back in the
late 70s and early 80s.

Tell me about these tractors and the Case 990 which I gather is the same? Whats the good, bad and ugly? How is the parts situation?

Thanks!
Bill

Well, since no one answered, Bill, I'll give it a shot.

We've had one on the farm for 45-50 years now and I can't say it's ever let us down. It just runs whenever we want it to.

Good: Sips fuel, Easy to operate, Pulls bigger than it's size,
David Brown diesel engine, 2-speed PTO, I'm sure there's
more, but I'm drawing a blank.

Bad: Hydraulics can be finicky, non-synchronized transmission
on the 6-speed (12-speed is partial-synchronized).

Ugly: Ergonomics!!

Case 990 is the same tractor.

I also own a Case-DB885.
