Securing truck toolbox

Looking to see how you guys/gals secure your toolboxes to your trucks. I'm thinking of buying one of those toolboxes/ chests that sit below the side rails on the bed. Anyone come up with a good way to secure them other than simply bolting the chest to the bed floor, something that would make it easy to remove the chest if I need to use the whole bed.

3M trim tape 2 inches wide will hold it (and you might not get it to move later on but you can get it to turn loose with some pulling and prying)

I had a pick up truck sized load bar that i used to hold my box o stuff in place worked allright so far

For underbed box I welded an angle iron frame and bolted it to the truck frame, bolted box to
frame. No attachment to bed, which might shift.

That works ok if the box is not to big. I've done a few that way. I did have a customer with a sewage pumper that had boxes all along both sides. It had 2 boxes per side each 4' long. He didn't get them from me but I worked on them a lot. They were so long that the twisting of the truck frame kept breaking the boxes apart, first the latches and then the hinges, so I put on heavier latches and hinges. After that the doors and boxes started breaking. I kept trying to get him to let me remount them to the tank but he never wanted to spend the $. Those were some custom made boxes that were done where they mounted the tank and pump. They were much larger than standard boxes both up and down and depth wise.

Easy to remove" will be easy for a thief to remove, too. Also, most latch/locking mechanisms are toys for a thief. Need some heavy duty stuff!

I knew a guy that had an extended cab PU and pulled the back seat out so that he could put his toolbox behind the driver seat, saves truck bed space.

First off, do you REALLY need to have all those tools exposed in an insecure location at all hours ?

If it is a work truck, you need it during working hours when it is NOT unattended, then park it in a secure location for the night!
