Serial # for massey ferguson 175

I am trying to identify a serial number for MF 175. I found a number below the stearing wheel where it was supposed to be located. The number is 9A T2I250. This does not match anything I can find. I am pretty shure its between 1965 and 1967? Thanks for your support.

Make sure the "T" is not rally a "1"

No older than a 67 with a 9A serial number. The T would be a 1 which would make it a 1971 model. The serial numbers are on the left on this site. Dave

external_link list ser 3 9A121250 as a 1975 MF 175. It dosent list a letter in the ser. #'s.

The Used Tractor Price Guide from Primedia publishers shows for the MF175: 1971 started with 9A107597 and 1972 started with 9A128141.

Based on that your tractor looks like a 1971 model IF you have mis-read the serial number. Location is listed as on steering column below instrument panel.Please check it out and get back to us.

Tom I had a stroke a couple years ago and sometimes i get things mixed up. I had a couple of MF numbers off of a friend tractor and mine. I looked them up also at the same time. I got them crosed up in my head. Sure can be frustrating. Thanks for the corection.

I rechecked the serial number and what i thought was a T is actually a I. The number is 9A I2I250. If the I is equal to a 1 then the number would be 9A 121250 which would then indicate it is a 1971 model.
