Serial number

I went to external_link to try to figure out what year my 770 is I just bought. It shows 5 diget numbers for 58 thru 60, and 6 didget numbers for 61 thru 67 models. My serial number is seperated by dashes. 61-974-721. What year is it?

didn't know that these were made in 1858. if you are going to respond to every question, you should try to have better information.

If you're going to nit-pick about that, then perhaps you should learn to properly capitalize and structure your sentences. I, for one, am extremely grateful for John's diligence and willingness to help us on this board, as he knows more about Olivers than a lot of us are ever likely to know.

Sorry: I hit the wrong key. Maybe I should turn the light on too. I make a lot of mistakes and English is not one of my strong suits.

I knew exactly what he was saying and did not even see that he had fat fingered this. John is the most valuable resource on this site. If you know it all you should answer the questions. I read every post that John answers in the hope that I might remember the knowledge that John is so gracious to impart on us. You can take your smarta** comments and go to another site.

Thankfully, most of us who frequent these boards respond to errors in content, not to obvious (and harmless) typos. Even then, we try to just gently correct the error, not make smarta$$ side comments. Heaven knows, we have few enough genuine experts on here (and we'd need some more helpful posts from you to know if you're one of them), and nobody wants to see them get upset and leave.

Thanks, John, for your continued assistance in "all things Oliver."

Back off man! Use your common sense, you know he meant 1958. He has better information than most people on here.

Thanks for the support guys. I do make mistakes. Remember I am getting older and forget some things too. I had not had experience with a lot of Oliver stuff either. Thanks Again for the support. J.

A few years ago, you helped me with my "frozen" hydraulic pump on my 770 in the middle of a snowstorm.....and that being my plow tractor you saved my a$$... Don"t sweat the small stuff, you are appreciated more than you can imagine...

sorry for the sarcasm. i was just a little miffed about your lack of follow up regarding my question. guess i should have known not to pick on an oliver expert.
