Posted recently about starting issues with newly acquired Farmall C. Thanks to YT suggestions it now runs. However, as my Dad said, it's always something:
-Runs very rough. Smooths out a little with choke on. Likely carburator problem? Take it off and start cleaning or matter of fiddling with adjustment screws?
-Taking out plug on platform and testing with a rod indicates almost no oil in transmission case. Is transmission and rear end a common compartment? What oil and how much. Any such thing as flushing before refilling?
-It's a wide front end. Steers real hard. Like harder than an AC WD with mtd cultivator or loader. I had expected it to steer pretty easy. My recollection of running an H 50 years ago is that it steered pretty nice and thought the C would be similar. Greased all evident zerks. Presume there must be some kind of toothed steering sector in the casting below the radiator and worried it is somehow a factor. Thoughts/theories? Thanks.
