I have a sherman backhoe from a ford 8n tractor. It is a complete unit, however it is disassembled as someone tried to steal it for scrap. Are they valuable as a restoration project, parts, or should i sell it for scrap metal?

I"d try to reassemble it & sell complete if possible . Never scrap something like this when someone can make use of it . Where is it located ? How much do you want for it ? Its 3pt I assume ? I"d like to own one myself but highly impossible . God bless, Ken

The reason I have not scrapped it yet is that I would rather see it used or restored as an antique but did not no if anyone collected these old backhoes. Unit is located in central michigan

I too have part of a Sherman back hoe that I have been slowly selling parts off of. It was on a 1951 8N but some one stole a number of parts off it before I got the tractor so I have been saving it in the only way I can by selling it a part here and there to those in need.

No real high demand on the parts due to the fact not many are around any more. As for how much to charge depends on what it is and how good it is. But I do not ask a real high price on any thing I sell

Old backhoe, I may be interestead in it as a whole unit (assembled or disassembled). Shoot me an e-mail if you'd like. I probably won't be able to get back to you until next weekend. I'm currently working out of town. I'm located in Midland.

thanks for the reply, do you sell your parts on ebay or word of mouth? I would hate to scrap it,but i will never use it and it is stored outside.

How much is left? Where is it? I would love to have one if the price was right and it could be restored without too much $$$$ Any pictures?

It was a complete, working unit.I took it off to do some engine work to the tractor. Someone tried to steal it for scrap buy taking it apart,I recovered it should be all there except maybe some nuts and bolts. It is located in Central Michigan.
