Shop Cleaning Day

God, grant me the storage to keep the things I need to keep; the courage to pitch the things I don't; and the wisdom to know the difference.

Goals for the day are to find that serial number plate (blush), and those aggravating sway chains that got lost soon after prep, but before paint....

If I ain't back in a couple of hours, call the authorities!

I am always amazed how it takes may a day or two to clean my shop, and in an hour it looks like I have never touched it. I am envious of people that can keep a shop clean all the time, I guess I just get too wraped in my projects.

Kids cleaned mine after that unfortunate deer gutting incident.Who knew?! Gotta grind feed today. Debating whether to clean feedlots today or wait til tomorrow. Just needs to be done before the bottom drops out of the thermometer this weekend.

A friend of mine has a 1 man welding-repare shop. Each day in the evening he pays his daughter to sweep up, wipe off and put away all the tools and generally clean up. She also orders supplies, stocks the fridge and helps with the books. Part of her pay goes into a untouchable college fund. Its a win-win for both. She's learning the three "R's" of life.

I try to clean the shop after each project. Problem with cleaning during a project is I don't know where the pieces & parts end up.

i know how u feel i bring in a part & sit it where i can find room then i seem to need more room later that week. the one thing i do keep up on is all tools are put away after use so i know where to find when needed & the floor is swept up so can roll around on it with creeper other than that i just still have a good enough memory to knwo where i set things for use later on but i catch myself wanting to toss thing i never seem to use but yet know ill need someday later on hummmm ........Good Luck
