Yesterday's Tractor Forums
Jkane, mine switched to dark mode automatically, but after trying to switch back to light mode it stays in dark. Tried all 3 options in the preference section. I prefer dark, but just wanted you to know, I can see why others are having issues. I use my phone, android software
 
I was logged out when I came back. Still no dark. Cookies? Accept? showed up at bottom of page. Noticed I was logged out. Logged back in and it went away. Is it going back to not worth it, anymore? I left because of the mess years ago and was gone until I read of the improvements going on and came back. Was it a mistake? Changes all the time I see we are back to pages now, instead of smooth flow. I know they still showed in the background on larger threads but now at top of page. 3 pages here now. Had to click on page 3 to get here. Never seen it take so long with continual changes instead of making a bunch of changes and switch over. I see a lot of talk of improvements but little change....James

You need to check the remember me box. Not the site or administrators fault for not doing things right (y)

Can you explain to me what your on about, I have not seen any of the things your talking about since I have been here. Everything, for the most part, has worked as it should with this software.

Just curious if its just the "change" or actual problems as I am not seeing many at all.

The box was already checked when I logged back in. I am only posting what I see and have to do. This time it is working as it did before today. Last time when I came on, from my bookmark page, I had no box on the forum page to see new posts, I figured it was because I was not logged in (I didn't realize I was logged out) as I didn't log out. That black box for new posts was there this time because it did not lock me out. I come in to this site by the Forums page by using my bookmarks. This time, I left and went somewhere else as I was testing IF I had to go away and come back to see the changes JKane described. I did what he explained, no difference. But in the meantime, after the changes, I have seen these things happen. I see you always say it is OUR fault because you never see any of these problems. Well good for you being so much smarter than us. I have always said I am ignorant about computers, the reason I have a Chromebook. Simple. There is a reason there are these threads, so we can ask questions and get answers, not be shamed because we don't know. I have never gotten an answer to any question from the tech guy(s) here. People come on and say what to do, try it and it does not work, for whatever reason. I appreciate any help with people using a Chromebook. It was working great for me before it was announced there were changes coming....James

I am confused, so was I correct? ;)

We have all been ignorant of this stuff at some point. But it is 2025 and if forums are something someone does then well...

I learned this software on another forum when they switched years ago. I just started playing with all the drop down menus. If i jacked something up I just put the settings back were they were.

Just play with it, best way to learn it IMO

Oh, and I am a dumba$$, not smarter than anyone, I just learned how to use something I use often.
 
If it works it works, if it don't it ain't. I have been on 4 or 5 forums that use this software. Problems sure but not like this. I came back here because of the changes, I was fine with it. I have never seen dark mode and was interested because I have a lot of eye problems. Still has not happened for me and I have done everything that was suggested. I am not mad about it. I have no idea why some things are not working for me, and others. I do not have time to mess around. I have to use Verizon internet from wife's cellphone. No other internet or cell provider out here....Yet, it is on other side of town, new from next town over, overhead wire 10 miles. I am patiently waiting. I have been here since 1984. It is what it is. I am off-grid and keep up on the improvements. I am use to 30 minutes a day, over 3 forums....James

You should be able to set your machine to dark mode as well
Be under the settings menu
 
Classic view showed threads in a single page, no matter how many posts there were. The new software no longer emulates classic view, for reasons already described at great length. I am sorry you miss the threads occupying a single page, but that behavior is gone now. The new software has a limit of the number of posts it will show on the same page. It seems to me that limit is either 20 or 25. Every thread longer than that will be split into multiple pages, the number of which is dependent on the total number of posts. The one page thread is gone. There is no way to display things like that now. Yes, you have to click a button to get to the next page - something those of use who used modern view have been doing all along. It's nothing you're doing wrong, it is simply the fact that only classic view used that format.
